A slow computer can be caused by many things. It could be that your hard drive is going out. It could be that you have a virus. It can also be that you have many programs running in the background automatically. Programs to start automatically can eat up many of the resources of your computer. One thing you can do to see what programs are running in the background is to look at msconfig. If you go to your start button and typing and msconfig and then hit enter it will take you to a window with many towns across the top. Click on the tab that says startup. You’ll see a list of programs that are automatically starting. If you un checks them they will not auto start. You will want to leave your antivirus and remote access programs checked. If you have Mozy or carbonite those need to remain checked also. This video can help you also.
