Cobian Backup is a free Automated Backup Program. Cobian will let you schedule backups whenever you want. You can have specific file and folders backed up to wherever you want. If you have an external hard drive you can tell it to backup your important files to the external hard drive automatically at 11PM each day or whenever you want.
